Behaviour Support Management

What is Behaviour Support?

The Behaviour Support App is meant for NDIS clients who utilize positive behaviour practitioners and Positive Behaviour Support Plans. The app is designed for the organisations to record and report an incident that may then require completion of the reportable incident notification form, which then has to be approved by the NDIS Commission.

Basically, the system can be used anywhere to log and record behaviours of concern; paying attention to and recording antecedent, triggers and mood state. It captures strategies used to ameliorate the behaviour and measures the effectiveness. The system includes a Mobile app which is meant for the staffs of the organisation to record any such incident. The system also comes with a password protected Web administration panel for the service managers/administrators to review the reported incident, provide feedback, make any changes to the record and/or review the incident reported. The reviewed incident can be viewed in a PDF report or in a printable format. Further, the reviewed incident forms can be emailed directly to the NDIS commission with a click of a button.

The report section in the web admin generates detailed statistics and graphs to identify and respond the incidents. Over the time it builds a picture of the client and can help identify specific triggers for behaviours and strategies that work to mitigate the behaviour. It allows for targeting of situations that trigger behaviours and highlights areas of concern for further investigation and planning by the Behaviour Support Practitioner and Service Providers.

Benefits of using our BSMS

Behaviour Support Management is an approach to managing incidents reported that seeks to identify and understand why and when the behaviour is occurring. The report generated by the behaviour support management app provides an analysis of an individual’s behaviour changes in a given date and time range. It shows the percentage of time an individual spends at each intensity level over a given period. The intensity levels included in this report are Level1, 2, 3 and 4. It also includes the emotional state and what triggered the behaviour change at the time of the incident. This can be used to assess an individual’s overall engagement in activities over a given period. The report also provides a graph which shows the percentage of time an individual spends at each emotional state for the given period. This can be used to identify times when an individual was more or less will show a behaviour change that can help to identify any patterns that may be present. This report can be used by organisations to assess an individual’s patterns in their behaviour and to plan for future interventions.
